The deep heat of the infrared sauna rays, helps peripheral blood vessels dilate, bringing relief and healing to muscle and soft tissue injuries. Increased blood supply to oxygen-depleted tissues helps reduce pain and speeds up the healing process. Muscles relax more readily, when tissues are warm, for greater flexibility and range of motion.
Eases Joint Pain and Stiffness
In Europe radiant heat therapy is widely used to treat patients suffering from many forms of arthritis. In addition, it has been proven effective in the treatment of sprains, neuralgia, bursitis, muscle spasms, joint stiffness and many other muscular-skeletal ailments. Much of the stiffness, aches and soreness that comes with aging, is reduced or eliminated.
The infrared sauna rays help clear ugly cellulite, the gel-like lumps of fat, water and debris trapped in the pockets beneath the skin. Because the infrared heat of the saunas warms three times deeper than conventional saunas and fat becomes soluble at 110 degrees Fahrenheit, beauty specialists routinely incorporate daily saunas in programs to reduce cellulite.
Removes Toxins and Mineral Waste
The body eliminates most stored toxins naturally by sweating. Increased blood circulation stimulates the sweat glands, releasing built up toxins and waste. Daily sweating can help detoxify your body, as it rids itself of an accumulation of potentially carcinogenic heavy metals like lead, mercury, zinc, nickel and cadmium, as well as removing alcohol, nicotine, sodium, sulfuric acid and cholesterol. Heat therapy speeds up the body’s natural ability to remove toxins for improved overall health.
Excessive sweating achieved after just a few minutes in the infrared sauna carries off deeply imbedded impurities, expels dirt and chemicals and releases dead skin cells on the body’s surface, leaving the skin glowing, softer and immaculately clean. Increased circulation draws your skin’s own natural nutrients to the surface. You’ll see improved tone, elasticity, texture and fresh color. Increased blood circulation has also been shown to relieve acne, eczema, psoriasis, burns, lesions and cuts. In addition, wounds heal more quickly, reducing scarring.
Improves the Immune System
The infrared saunas deep heat raises your core body temperature, inducing an artificial fever. Fever is the body’s natural response to attacking viruses, bacteria and other unwanted foreign bodies. As the immune system is activated each time you take a sauna, this process wards off invading organisms on a continuous basis. This works to combat the bacteria and your body’s immune system is naturally strengthened. Combined with the elimination of toxins and wastes, your overall health and resistance to disease is increased.
Reduced Stress and Fatigue
It’s a fact that infrared sauna heat therapy loosens muscles and relaxes the body. Massage therapists and chiropractors often use heat to provide effective treatments. Perhaps the most immediate relief your infrared sauna offers is simple relaxation, as it melts away the stress and tension of urban life. Just a few minutes in the gentle warmth of your infrared sauna gives you an overall massaging effect, soothing jangled nerves and knotted muscles. You’ll feel rejuvenated and renewed, restored in both body and mind.
Uses Less Energy
Infrared sauna rays cost less to produce because it is radiant heat, which only heats the body (objects), not like traditional saunas, which super heat the air. They generally take 5 -15 minutes to pre-heat, not the 30 – 45 minutes required by traditional saunas.
Effective at Lower Temperatures
Infrared saunas operate at a lower, more comfortable temperature than other saunas at between 41-57C. The radiant heat reaches deep, to be absorbed by your body, as much as 1.5 inches below the skin, while producing 2 – 3 times more sweat than other saunas.
Traditional saunas rely on a stove to heat the air to as hot as 97C. The energy they require can use as much as double the electricity. To be effective, this superheated air must remain tightly enclosed, resulting in a stifling, suffocating environment. By contrast, infrared saunas allow fresh air to circulate for ventilation and maximum comfort, having air vents for continuous airflow.
